A Day at the Ocean!!!

Today, I woke up at 7:30 A.M. I woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day!!! I got some breakfast and started getting ready for the day. I had plugged my battery pack in last night, and this morning when I went to get it, it would not work at all. I just paid $50 dollars for it. I was upset, but I got over it:).

After the battery pack fiasco, I finished gathering my stuff for the day. It is Mom’s birthday; so, we are going to the ocean. I put my swim clothes on, gathered some water, and I was ready for the day. We left the house at ten or so and did not get to the beach until 11:30. After the long hour and a half of travel on the terrible roads, we were ready to get out and have some fun.

Danny and Bonnie were the first in the water. Me on the other hand, I was not so fast, the water was freezing. I put my feet in the water and walked around for several minutes. I HATE cold water. After several big waves had splashed me, I started to get used to the water. Once you are used to the cold, you can have fun. I stayed in the water for probably an hour or more.

Once we were all starting to get tired, we went to lunch. Several of us ordered burgers, but then they said that did not have them. So instead of burgers, we had kabobs. We waited for over an hour, but at least the food was good. Bro. Ruckman said it was the best beef kabobs he had in Africa. The meat was so tender and good.

Everyone waiting patiently for the meal.

After we had finished eating, we did a little more swimming. Well, Danny and Bonnie did more swimming. I on the other hand changed clothes and got cleaned up. While Danny and Bonnie were swimming, Bro. Prince and I went on the hunt for some fresh lobster for supper. We walked down the beach and found some of the local fishermen. We talked to them for a while, and they led us to a place where there were several lobsters swimming in a tank. All of these lobsters were for sale; some were large, and some were small. We tried to get a good price, but they were way too expensive, so no lobster for supper.

Instead, we are going to eat grilled chicken and corn on the cob. We are celebrating mom’s birthday!!! Happy birthday, Mom!!! Mrs. Angie surprised mom with a coffee cake. It tasted AMAZING!!!

Mom got a little burnt today!!!

Now we are heaving some fellowship with the Kenny family, another missionary family here in Ghana. After all of the activities today, I am ready for bed. I am looking forward to a good night of rest!!!
